Unzip Rebellion.fs2 directly to your Freespace/data/missions directory.  The generic.wav can be unzipped to the data/voice/special directory but it's possible you already have that sound file there.

This is my first completed mission for Freespace 2.  Orignally it was called "GTD Siphron" but I thought that was a boring name and changed it to Rebellion.  I started working on it just after I finished the tutorial mission but something really strange happened to it (a destroyer jumped into subspace backwards; I have absolutely no clue how or why this happened) and I had to start all over.  I started building them mission over two months ago and since then I've made many, many changes.

Because this is my first mission there are probably still a few bugs left.  Please report any you find to cplshep@yahoo.com.  I'd also love to hear any recommendations you have.


Description:

It all begins in some part of space between the Alpha Centauri and Vega jump nodes (I have no idea if such a place exists in the FS2 universe)  The GTD Siphron, an Orion-class destroyer, has suffered an engine failure on it's way to Alpha Centauri and needs repairs.  As repair crews are scrambled the Neo-Terran Front launches an attack to destroy the Siphron.

Mission Hints & Tips (SPOILERS):
-----------------------------------------------------------

-Be careful what you order your wingmen to do.  They're assigned to guard certain mission critical craft and ordering them to do something else can put these ships in danger.


-When Scorpio wing jumps in attack them from above, below, or to their left side.  Attacking them head on will put you in great danger from the two NTF cruisers beam weapons.


-Try not to call Delta wing into the battle until the Harbinger jumps in.  Calling them in before the cruiser blocks the Siphron's path puts the bombers in danger of getting destroyed before you really need them.


-Shoot down bombs before they reach the Siphron whenever possible.
