Welcome aboard the GTD Iron Fist, flagship of the 16th Terran-Vasudan Fleet.  I am Admiral Katelyn Akaruja, commanding officer of the 16th Fleet.  

The 16th Fleet began its life as the 16th Galactic Terran Fleet and served prestigiously during the Vasudan War.  During the Shivan War, it was decimated in a valiant attack on the Shivan Lucifer destroyer as it assaulted Vasuda Prime.  After the destruction of the Lucifer and the collapse of the Sol jump node, the newly formed Galactic Terran Vasudan Alliance began combining armed forces.  In recognition of the 16th's efforts to defend Vasuda Prime, the Vasudan government requested our fleet be the first combined species unit.  Despite initial difficulties, Hammer of Light saboteurs, and the disasterous Draconis Incident

; the 16th emerged as one of the most highly decorated units in the GTVA.

*CURRENT OPERATIONS*

We are currently in the end stages of a five month long campaign to retake the Epsilon Eridani system.  This recently discovered system has a wealth of natural resources in its large asteroid fields and its four planets.  The second planet is habitable and is perfectly suited to Vasudan life and it may very well be the new Vasudan capital after it is settled.  
Unfortunately, the Hammer of Light is well aware of this and had established a large base of operations in this system shortly after its discovery.  After the destruction of their main base of operation, the HOL forces are currently retreating through the two jump nodes of this system which they control.

However, this should not give you the impression this will be an easy fight.  There are still a number of  HOL forces in this system and at least two Typhon-class destroyers which have yet to leave the system.  The process of removal will likely take several months.

*TECH REPORT*

RE:  GTF LOKI-CLASS FIGHTER

The GTF Loki was borne of the rogue GTI element that was destroyed at the Jotunheim Engagement.  This vessel was apparently the main interceptor of the rogue organization.  It was originally created by GTI Research and Development as a stealth recon vessel.  Its slim hull profile and shielded engine reactor lend themselves well to this purpose, however, a structural defect made the vessel visible to properly configured sensors.  GTVA engineers are currently searching for a solution to this problem.
Despite this, the Loki has proven an adequate interceptor.  It is fast, maneuverable, and it can carry the potent Banshee cannon.  Its only weakness is its small missile payload and a relatively weak hull and shield rating that make it unsuitable for protracted engagements.

RE:  GTB ZEUS-CLASS BOMBER

The Zeus-class bomber, like the GTF Loki, is a product of GTI R&D.  The Zeus bomber is a light, or strike, bomber like the earlier Athena.  Like its predecessor, it was developed with a two fold purpose in mind.  The primary purpose was to make it an effective bomber for use against cruiser class vessels.  The second purpose was to leave it with good dogfighting capabilities like the Athena.
The Zeus succeeds well in both categories.  With a more efficiently designed missile bay, an additional missile compartment has been added.  This additional compartment enables the Zeus to carry three Tsunami space bombs.  These bombs make the Zeus exponentially more effective against cruisers.  This additional capacity is bought at a slight decrease in speed and maneuverabilty, though the Zeus does have an extremely large afterburner store.  With maneuverability and speed nearly equal to the Athena, the Zeus remains a decent dogfighter.

   Excellent job, pilot!  You succeeded not only in destroying the first group of Hammer cruisers and their escorts, but the second group as well.  the arrival of Epsilon and Kappa wings along with the GTC Otto and the GTC Guderian undoubtedly saved the day, but it was due to the excellent flying of yourself and several others that the enemy force was destroyed.

As to the Galactic Terran Vasudan Intelligence (GTVI) agent which informed us of the node's weak defenses and the arrival of the Hammer cruisers, it is now apparent that he was a double agent, allowed to be placed by GTVI aboard a Hammer vessel.  He then proceeded to feed us enough useful information with the bad information that we thought him reliable.  Once he had gained our trust, he fed us faulty information on the strength of the force that would be heading for the Beta Aquilae node.  In short, the agent had expected us to send at least two cruisers and a limited number of fighters and bombers to attack Cruiser Group Hammer.  It is a good thing we sent far more than we believed to be neccessary or else we would likely have lost both cruisers and all our fighters.  It was a trap, pilot, pure and simple.

Despite giving the Hammer of Light a black eye, we took some heavy losses.  We lost all of Beta and Iota wings, half of Gamma, half of Delta, three quarters of Epsilon wing, half of Kappa wing.  Out of Alpha wing, you were the only survivor.  Good work pilot, you clearly deserve the reputation that your records give you.

   This defeat cannot be totally blamed upon you, the enemy forces were at least double what we had expected.  However, you are not totally without blame.  Not only did at least half the Hammer cruisers make it to Beta Aquilae, we lost at least seventy five percent of our fighters that we had sent.  The GTC Otto was destroyed and the GTC Guderian will have to be towed out of the area for repairs.
The enemy force that arrived in Beta Aquilae will undoubtedly make the battle for that system even more dificult.

   Order all fighters to attack any target, then lock your sights on the enemy crusiers.  Sometimes an effective tactic is to try and disable the crusiers, though you will not be able to spend too much time on this (especially after the second wave arives).
When the second wave arrives, your first concern is to try and survive until the arrival of the Leviathan cruisers and Kappa and Epsilon wings.  Once they have arrived, concentrate on the cruisers but engage the fighters when neccessary.
